The leader of a street criminal gang wanted by the Karachi police was arrested

Karachi: The accused, who was arrested during the alleged encounter by the Korangi Industrial Area Police, is wanted by the police and is the leader of a street criminal gang.

During the investigation, the accused also revealed that he had committed more than 50 robberies in the city.

Korangi Industrial Area Police obtained the previous criminal record of the accused who was injured during the alleged encounter.

The accused Adeel alias Raju, who was arrested in an injured condition in the police encounter, was wanted by the police and turned out to be the leader of a street criminal gang.

During the investigation, the accused has also disclosed more than 50 incidents of looting in the city, the accused had looted at Korangi Leather Chowrangi and fired on the citizen on the third day of Eid-ul-Adha.

The accused had also injured a citizen during the robbery at Korangi Weta Chowrangi on 19 June 2023. Four days ago, the accused had also robbed a barber shop in Medina Colony with his colleagues, the CCTV footage of which was obtained.

In the footage, accused Adeel can be seen torturing citizens. Several cases of robbery and looting have been registered against accused Adeel, more criminal records of the arrested accused are also being obtained from different districts.

Raiding operations are ongoing in search of accomplices who escaped in the incidents of the arrested accused.

A pistol with ammunition, 2 stolen mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle were recovered from the accused. During the exchange of fire, the accomplice of the arrested accused managed to escape from the spot.
