Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund’s mission chief for Pakistan, Nathan Porter, says that over the past few days, Pakistani officials have taken decisive steps to align policies with the economic reform program.
In a statement, he said the economic reform program supported by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) included the approval of a budget by Parliament that broadened the tax base while allowing for higher social and development spending. Opens space as well as measures to tighten monetary policy to improve the functioning of the foreign exchange market and reduce inflationary and balance of payment pressures.
