Balochistan government's directive to immediately remove all check posts on the highways

Quetta: The Balochistan government has banned the establishment of check posts without permission in the province and directed to remove the bridges on the highways immediately.

According to Express News, a special meeting of the provincial cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Balochistan, in which the law and order situation in the province was reviewed in detail. The provincial cabinet strongly reacted to the establishment of check posts on the roads under the guise of security checking and directed the concerned federal and provincial security agencies to immediately remove the roadblocks.

The cabinet decided that in the future, no institution in the province will establish a check post on any highway without the permission of the provincial government. It will be necessary to take permission from the interior department to establish a check post.

The members of the provincial cabinet said that humiliating the public under the guise of check posts is not acceptable in any way, the self-respect of the people will not be allowed to be trampled, women, children, patients and the elderly in buses and vehicles were stopped for hours at the check posts. goes

The cabinet demanded that the federal security agencies should ensure the protection of the country’s borders and the prevention of smuggling and drugs, customs, coast guard, police and levies are not empowered to harass people by setting up check posts.

The provincial cabinet also decided that security agencies should carry out targeted operations against anti-social elements, however, the effectiveness of check posts on the highways has never been revealed and no terrorist has been arrested from buses till date.

The cabinet also decided to take action against drug dealers in other areas of Quetta, including Sariab Road, and directed the police and anti-narcotics force to start immediate operations.
