Pakistan's strong reaction to India-US joint declaration; 'The narrative is one-sided and misleading'

Islamabad: Pakistan has reacted strongly to the US-India joint declaration and said that it considers the specific reference to Pakistan as unnecessary, one-sided and misleading.

It should be noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to the US these days and the countries have stressed on Pakistan to take action against cross-border terrorists in a joint declaration.

During a media briefing in Islamabad, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office said in response to a question that this reference is against diplomatic principles and has no political significance. It was added.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that Pakistan has made unprecedented sacrifices in the war against terrorism, the people of Pakistan are the real heroes in this war, the international community has repeatedly recognized Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in the war against terrorism.

He said that terrorism can be defeated through joint and cooperative actions, how the assertions made in the joint statement could strengthen international resolve to fight terrorism.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said the statement shows that the spirit of cooperation has been sacrificed on the altar of geopolitical considerations, with India using terrorism to divert attention from the brutal repression and ill-treatment in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that it is completely wrong to make allegations about Pakistan and its war against terrorism. It is ironic that the joint statement did not take notice of the cause of tension in the region and the serious situation of human rights in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan is also deeply concerned about the planned transfer of advanced military technologies to India, such moves are increasing the military imbalance in the region and undermining strategic stability.

He said that such measures are unhelpful in achieving the goal of sustainable peace in South Asia, and international partners should avoid endorsing unilateral positions on peace and security issues in South Asia.
