Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a day of mourning today for the deaths of Pakistanis and other people in a boat accident near Greece.
National flags were hoisted at half-mast at airports across the country, including Karachi Airport, on the occasion of Mourning Day.
Yesterday, in the announcement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, it was said that special prayers will be offered for the deceased.
It should be noted that a few days ago, there was an accident in which a migrant boat sank in the sea near Greece. 41 Pakistani citizens are missing in this accident.
According to reports from Athens, 79 migrants drowned in the accident.
Rescue officials say 104 passengers have been rescued from the boat, possibly carrying 750 people.
