Election of Mayor Karachi, Deputy Mayor, Arrival of Members at Arts Council Polling Station

Members are continuing to arrive at the polling station established in the Arts Council for the election of Mayor Karachi and Deputy Mayor.

The elected chairman of Jamaat-e-Islami and People’s Party and city council members are reaching the Arts Council to participate in the election of Karachi Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

At 9 am, the doors of the polling station set up in the Arts Council were opened, allowing the voter to enter after identification.

City council members will be able to enter the polling hall until 10:30 am.

No person is allowed to bring mobile phones, the election process of mayor will start at 11 am.

4 counters have been set up outside the Arts Council for identification of members, voting cards are being issued after showing the ID cards to the elected representatives.

Some elected members who reached the Arts Council got voting cards by showing their identity cards.

According to the Election Commission, the election process will begin at 11 am through the show of hands, 246 elected chairmen and 121 elected people will vote on specific seats.

First the mayor and then the deputy mayor will be elected.

According to the final list of candidates for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Karachi released by the Election Commission, 2 candidates are competing for the post of Mayor of Karachi.

Jamaat-i-Islami’s candidate for Mayor Karachi is Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and People’s Party’s candidate is Murtaza Wahab.

Syed Saifuddin of Jamaat-i-Islami, while Salman Murad of People’s Party is the candidate for the Deputy Mayor of Karachi.
