The National Assembly approved the resolution to conduct cases against the miscreants of May 9 under the Military Act, the resolution was presented by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif in the National Assembly.
Jamaat-e-Islami opposed sending PTI cases to military courts.
The defense minister said that on May 9, military installations and martyrs’ memorials were attacked as part of the plan, there were 85 aircraft at Mianwali Air Base that were tried to be burnt, all the evidence of the events of May 9 is there.
Khawaja Asif said that there will be trials in military courts according to the law that exists in the books, attacks on military installations can be tolerated by Abdul Akbar Chitrali, Pakistanis cannot.
The resolution condemning May 9 was passed by majority vote in the National Assembly. It was said that a party and its leader crossed all boundaries on May 9 and attacked military installations in defiance of the constitution and law. Their attacks have caused irreparable damage to the state institutions and the country, action against them should be completed under the constitution and law.
In the resolution presented in the National Assembly, it was said that the action against the accused should not be delayed even for a day, the workers and leaders of their party are also indifferent to their actions, action against the miscreants and criminals. Human rights were not violated.
The resolution also said that the armed forces are empowered to take action against military installations in the world, and punish all individuals under the Pakistan Army Act, 1952.
