Russia will begin deploying short-range nuclear weapons in Belarus after July 7-8.
Russian President Vladimir Putin told his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko this in a meeting held in Sochi today.
According to a statement issued by the Kremlin, Putin said that everything is going according to plan, everything is stable.
Earlier, the two figures had agreed on the installation of short-range nuclear missiles from Russia.
It should be noted that this will be the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union that Russia will install its warheads outside the country.
President Putin said that short-range ballistic missiles named ‘Iskander’ have already been handed over to Belarus.
These missiles are capable of carrying nuclear warheads while they can hit targets up to 500 km.
