After Pakistan and Nepal, the government of Bangladesh has also sought clarification on the ‘Akhand Bharat’ map in India’s new Parliament building.
The Bangladeshi government has instructed its diplomatic mission in New Delhi to seek clarification from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs regarding this map.
Bangladesh Minister of State for External Affairs Shehryar Alam told reporters in Dhaka that the Awami League government is in the process of seeking clarification from India on the map, which has also sparked protests in Nepal and Pakistan.
The map shows the former subcontinent as part of present-day India, which includes Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Shahryar Alam said that the spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that this map belongs to Ashoka’s empire, this map has nothing to do with politics.
