Three foods with more calcium than milk

Karachi: Calcium is a very important element for the strength of our teeth and bones. Our body is constantly busy trying to maintain the amount of calcium in the blood. However, if the amount of calcium in the blood decreases, calcium is released from the bones and stabilizes the amount in the blood, resulting in weaker bones.

Although various medications can be used to maintain calcium levels, eating a balanced diet has more effective and long-lasting results.

The following are three foods that contain more calcium than a glass of milk.

Spinach

One cup of cooked spinach contains 245 mg of calcium. By cooking spinach in different ways or eating it as a salad, we can get this amount of calcium.

Halim seeds

100 grams of Halium seeds contain 266 mg of calcium. The seeds can be soaked overnight and used as a syrup.

fig

Half a cup of figs contains 362 mg of calcium. You can slice figs and make them part of your diet as milk, porridge or salad.

Some people are also ‘lactose intolerant’ meaning they cannot consume milk or milk products for them these foods can easily provide the required amount of calcium.
