Karachi: A project has been started in collaboration with Sindh Health Department and Aga Khan Hospital in which training will be provided to common people to save lives of others.

In this context, the Minister of Health, Dr. Ezra Pechuho, said that even a person who is willing to help in case of an emergency does not move forward fearing legal complications, while a helpful law will be presented in this regard. Dr. Ezra said that the government wants to make more people aware of this skill.

The name of this project is Life Savers Program.

The press conference was attended by DG Health Dr. Irshad Memon, Founder Director of AKUH, Dr. Junaid Razak and Physician-in-Lead, Pakistan Life Savers Program, Dr. Noor Baig, etc. Life Savers Program is providing this training to common people. .

According to Dr. Razak, thousands of people die every year despite simple exercises. He further said that we want to increase the life expectancy of the victims of accidents and emergencies. Thus, the effect of one percent awareness of these skills is equal to saving more than ten lives in a day. For example, if the victim’s heart is stopping, the first few minutes are also very important. Before an ambulance or help, it is important to learn how to keep the patient alive and resuscitated during this time.

He said that 1122 is the emergency number of the entire Pakistan which should be remembered by everyone. According to Dr. Razak, the training also includes staying mentally calm in emergency situations. Then it is also important what information to provide by calling 1122. Similarly, training to prevent abnormal blood flow is also important.

The life-saving training course is only two and a half hours in which people associated with the police, schools and other institutions have received training. Already 12000 people have been trained with 250 master trainers in every district of Sindh.

It was said in the press conference that people are afraid to initiate help due to fear or harassment from the police and other agencies. However, this has been taken care of in the program and if a common man helps someone in a life-threatening situation, he will also be provided with legal protection.

Participants stated that to receive training and volunteer for the program www.plsp.org.pk Registration can be done on the website. After that the trainer himself will contact you.
