Manama: Pakistan refused to withdraw from hosting the Asia Cup in the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council. Further developments in this regard will be made in next month’s meeting.
In the meeting held in Bahrain, PC Chairman Najam Sethi fought the case by insisting on hosting, while the Indian Cricket Board once again presented its position not to send its team to Pakistan.
According to the Secretary of the Indian Board, Jay Shah, the Indian team cannot be sent to Pakistan without the permission of the government. After the PCB and BCCI did not deviate from their respective positions, now the ACC meeting in March has become important in which a decision will be taken regarding the Asia Cup.
If this event is not possible in Pakistan, then Sri Lanka and UAE could be possible alternative options.
Chairman PCB Najam Sethi has reached Dubai from Bahrain after the meeting, where he will return home after a one-day stay.
In the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council, along with the inclusion of Japan and Indonesia in the pathway program, the annual calendar of events and budget were also approved.
