Beijing: China has opposed the G20 Tourism Summit to be held by India in Occupied Kashmir, saying that it will not be a part of it.
According to the report of the foreign news agency “Reuters”, India is ready to preside over the G20 this year. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said that China is strongly opposed to holding any kind of G20 meetings in the disputed region (occupied Kashmir) and will not participate in such meetings.
It should be noted that the G20 summit will be held in Srinagar, the capital of Occupied Kashmir, in which the tourism working group of the G20 members will be hosted and the meeting will continue from May 22 to May 24.
On the other hand, responding to the reservations, India has said that it is free to hold the meeting on its soil. He said that peace and tranquility on its border is essential for normal relations with China.
India revoked the special status of the Occupied Territories on August 5, 2019. Relations between the two countries soured in 2020 when a military clash in Ladakh left 24 soldiers dead.
Pakistan has also opposed New Delhi’s decision to hold a meeting in Occupied Kashmir.
