The Anti-Terrorism Administrative Court sent Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi to jail on judicial remand in the riot case.
In front of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi, the case of rioting over the protest of Tehreek-e-Insaf on the arrest of Imran Khan was heard. Tipu Sultan Police produced Firdous Shamim Naqvi and other accused. The investigating officer said that the preliminary investigation has been completed. CRO and other proceedings of the accused have been completed. 164 statements of 2 accused are also to be recorded before the Judicial Magistrate.

The court sent 14 accused including Firdous Shamim Naqvi to jail on judicial remand. The court ordered to present a challan to the investigating officer at the next hearing. The lawyers of Tehreek-e-Insaf submitted the bail application of the accused. The court issued a notice to the investigating officer and the prosecution on the bail application and asked them to respond by May 19.

Firdous Shamim Naqvi said in an informal conversation in the court premises that I was kept in Shaara Faisal police station. Washroom facilities are also not available in the police station. I am a cancer patient and my leg also hurts. I also pray sitting. There is no water in the police station and offered prayers.
Firdous Shamim Naqvi added that an attempt was made to keep me in lock-up. Refused to go into a packed lockup. I am MPA paying tax for 40 years, decision makers are sitting in AC itself.
