Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed challenged the appointment of Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore High Court, Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court will hear Sheikh Rasheed’s request today.
Sheikh Rasheed has taken a stand in the petition filed in the Lahore High Court through Azhar Siddique Advocate that there is malice on the part of the Election Commission in making Mohsin Naqvi caretaker chief minister.
The petition says that the commission did not tell on what reasons he was chosen as the caretaker chief minister and other names were rejected that there were already objections on the name of Mohsin Naqvi.
The caretaker government is making appointments and transfers to benefit a political party. Therefore, the decision to appoint caretaker chief minister should be annulled.
The Lahore High Court has fixed Sheikh Rasheed’s application for hearing.
Justice Shahid Karim will hear the application again today.
