By December 2022, the burden of revolving loans has increased to 2536 billion rupees, the government has admitted

Islamabad: Federal Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir has admitted that by December 2022, the burden of revolving debt has reached 2536 billion rupees.

According to the questions, the figures related to revolving credit were presented by the Ministry of Energy in the National Assembly. In this regard, Khurram Dastgir said that the power line losses reached 113 billion rupees.

In his written reply, he said that the government has taken a big decision on the increasing revolving credit, the feeders with high losses will be privatized, while the government has planned legislation on electricity theft.

Leader Muslim League (N) made it clear that electricity theft will be made a punishable crime, revolving credit is a multifaceted issue.

On the other hand, the Parliamentary Secretary confirmed that the privatization proposal of high losses feeders has not been finalised, the process of privatization will be officially started after the approval of the proposals related to the privatization of feeders.
