Order to stop recovery of money in the name of vehicle fitness certificate

Lahore: The court ordered to stop receiving money in the name of vehicle fitness certificate.

The application against the Vehicle Inspection and Certification System was heard in the Lahore High Court, in which Justice Shahid Karim stopped the collection of money from vehicles on the roads in the name of fitness certificate.

The court issued a notice in connection with the case and sought a response from the transport department.

It was argued by the petitioner in the court that lakhs of rupees are being charged daily from the citizens in the name of vehicle inspection and certification system. It is illegal to collect fees from citizens for the fitness of vehicles on the roads, the court should declare it illegal.
