Arab foreign ministers agreed to include Syria in the Arab League

Cairo: Arab foreign ministers have agreed to reinstate Syria into the Arab League, ending years of diplomatic isolation.

According to international media reports, the spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed al-Shaf, while confirming Syria’s inclusion in the Arab League, said that the return of Syria to the Arab League has been agreed at the meeting held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

On the other hand, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri said that we have a historical responsibility to stand with the Syrian people in order to erase the effects of the tragic event that happened in their history.

He further said that the Syrian government is responsible for the political solution of the conflict, it cannot be solved by military force.

It should be noted that the conditions set for Syria’s return to the Arab League include the return of refugees and providing information about missing persons. Besides, the Arab League has not yet issued any final statement on this development.
