Counting of votes in 63 seats of 24 districts of Sindh in the by-elections continues


Counting of votes is going on after the polling time for by-local elections in 24 districts of Sindh including Karachi, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Khairpur.

The unofficial and final results of the election have started to be received.

According to the unofficial unofficial result, the inconclusive result of 2 women’s polling booths in Orangi Town UC-2, Polling Station Islamia School has come out, according to which PTI candidate is leading with 33 votes, PP candidate got 29 votes, Jamaat-e-Islami got 26 votes.

According to the inconclusive result of a male polling booth of Orangi Town UC-2, polling station Islamia School, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate is leading with 46 votes, PPP candidate has got 43 votes, PTI candidate has got 21 votes.

Elections could not be held on these seats due to death of candidates and other reasons.

By-elections are being held in 2 UCs of New Karachi Town and 1 UC of North Nazimabad Town in the central district of Karachi. Voting was also held in one UC of Korangi, Landhi and Shah Faisal Town districts.

By-elections are being held in 2 UCs of Orangi and 1 UC of Mominabad in West District, while polling was held in UC No. 2 of Baldia Town in Kemari and UC No. 2 of Lyari Town in South.

33 candidates are contesting on 3 seats of Central district of Karachi, 24 on 3 seats of Korangi district and 41 candidates on 3 seats of West district.

9 candidates are contesting for UC 2 municipality of Kemari district of Shahr-e-Quaid and 12 candidates are contesting for UC 2 Lyari district of South district.

80 polling stations have been set up in 3 USCs of District Central, out of which 44 have been declared sensitive and the total number of voters here is 1 lakh 25 thousand 995.

14 polling stations have been set up in UC 2 municipality of Kemari district and all have been declared sensitive, the total number of voters here is 17 thousand 796.

In Hyderabad, polling is being held for the seats of Member District Council, Chairman, Vice Chairman and General Council. Voting was done for three seats each in Nowsehro Feroze, Dadu and Thatta.

Polling is being held in two seats each in Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Badin and Sajawal, while polling was held in one seat each in Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shikarpur and Nawabshah.

Polling has also been held in one seat each in Sanghar, Matiari, Tindwalhiyar and Jamshoro.

According to the Karachi Police Spokesman, the security plan related to local body elections has been arranged, 172 polling buildings have been constructed and 302 polling stations have been established for the elections.

According to the spokesperson, more than 7,000 Karachi police personnel are performing election security duties, 12 police personnel are deployed at highly sensitive polling stations while 10 police personnel are deployed at sensitive polling stations.

According to the spokesman, QRF troops are deployed at the polling buildings and RRF is patrolling outside.

The spokesperson says that the Karachi Police along with other law enforcement agencies are taking steps to protect the lives and property of the people.

Election Commissioner Sindh Ejaz Anwar Chauhan while talking to Geo News said that I went to West District, there are good arrangements, there are basic facilities in the polling stations.

He said that the IG has also increased the police force yesterday, earlier there were around 7 thousand personnel, now there are around 8 thousand.

Ejaz Anwar Chauhan said that there have been a couple of incidents against which action will be taken, I have received reports of polling starting on time.

Election Commissioner Sindh also visited UC 6 North Nazimabad and reviewed the arrangements.
