Fakhar Zaman's brilliant innings of 180 runs, Pakistan beat New Zealand

Rawalpindi: Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets to take a 0-2 lead in the series.

In the second match of the one-day series played in Rawalpindi, Pakistan achieved the required target of 337 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the th over.

From Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman stood out by scoring a brilliant 180 runs not out. Wicketkeeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan returned to the pavilion unbeaten by scoring 54 runs.

Captain Babar Azam was out for 65, Imamul Haque 24 and Abdullah Shafiq 7 runs.

For New Zealand, Matt Henry, Henry Shipley and Ish Soodi took 1, 1 wicket each.

Earlier, batting first at Pakistan’s invitation, New Zealand scored 336 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

On behalf of the Kiwis, Daryl Mitchell stood out by playing a brilliant innings of 129 runs off 119 balls. Skipper Tom Latham scored 98 runs to defeat the nervous Nineties. A record partnership of 183 runs was established between the two batsmen.

Chad Bowes 51, Will Young 19 and Mark Chapman 1 run.

James Neesham scored 17 and Henry Nickels returned to the pavilion not out by scoring 6 runs.

On behalf of Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 4 wickets while Naseem Shah took 1 wicket.
