New Delhi: In the state of Madhya Pradesh, the Indian Army shot and killed two women who were arrested during a search operation, calling them separatists.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian troops conducted a search operation in Kadla forest of Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh state. This area is considered a stronghold of Naxal rebels who are waging an armed struggle for secession from India.
During the search operation, the Indian Army extrajudicially killed two women, Sunita and Sarita Khatia.
An Indian Army spokesman said the two women were Naxalite members, claiming that Sunita, an Area Committee Member (ACM) and a commander of Bhuram Dev Committee, a wing of the Maoists.
According to the Indian Army, Sarita Khatia Mocha was also active in ACM and Vasar Dalam.
It should be noted that the Naxal organization is fighting a war of independence from India.
