Washington: Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US representative in Afghanistan, has replied to former President Asif Zardari and said that I do not lobby for any person or any country, nor am I an agent of anyone.

On micro-blogging website Twitter, Zalmay Khalilzad wrote, “I want to reply to Pakistan’s “Mr. 10 Percent” that I have expressed my sincere concern about the ongoing crisis in Pakistan. I am not an agent of any person or country.

Zalmay Khalilzad further wrote that the Tehran crisis in Pakistan is unfortunately intensifying. In my previous tweet, I only suggested what Pakistan should do to deal with it.

Zalmay Khalilzad wrote that “Mr Ten Percent” should put his country first and respect the legacy of Bibi (Benazir Bhutto) to prevent a disaster that he (Asif Zardari) faces. Not to posh people, but to the people of Pakistan.

The former US representative in Afghanistan wrote that people like him (Asif Zardari) will move to their luxurious homes abroad, this is what the poor people have to live with and they have to face these problems.

Zalmay Khalilzad further wrote in his detailed tweet that the Pakistani establishment and the political leaders of the country should commit to the rule of law, not to divide the Supreme Court but to implement its decisions.

It should be remembered that former President Asif Ali Zardari said in an interview given in a TV show that Zalmay Khalilzad is a salaryman and Zalmay Khalilzad may have been persuaded by a lobby to support Imran Khan.

Asif Zardari gave this statement in the context of Zalmay Khalilzad’s tweet in which Zalmay Khalilzad apparently supported Imran Khan in the political crisis.
