Karachi: During the first 9 months of this financial year, the total volume of remittances from overseas Pakistanis was 20.5 billion dollars.
According to the statistics released by the State Bank, during the first 9 months of the fiscal year 2022-23, from July to March, immigrants sent a total of 20.5 billion dollars.
According to the Central Bank, the volume of remittances is 10.8 percent lower than the same period of the previous financial year.
According to the State Bank, remittances of 2.5 billion dollars were received from overseas Pakistanis in the month of March.
According to the data, workers’ remittances increased by 27.4 percent on a month-on-month basis and registered a decline of 10.7 percent on a year-on-year basis in March 23.
Major sources of remittances received in March include Saudi Arabia ($563.9 million), United Arab Emirates ($406.7 million), United Kingdom ($422 million) and the United States ($316 million).
