Israeli attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque, Arab League calls for an emergency meeting

Oman: The Arab League has announced to hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday regarding the recent Israeli attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to international media, Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the meeting was called by Jordan with the support of Egypt and Palestine. The meeting will be held regarding the Israeli police raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the increase in attacks on worshipers.

The statement also said that the Arab League’s emergency meeting will consider Israel’s growing state terrorism at Al-Aqsa Mosque. Jordan said that the Israelis are in contact with Arab countries to stop the attacks. Atrocities against Palestinians by Israeli forces are a clear violation of international humanitarian law and a reprehensible and reprehensible practice aimed at changing the historical and legal status quo.

The statement added that it will take all necessary measures in coordination with Arab countries to prevent and hold accountable the dangerous escalation of violence against Palestinians, violations of the Israeli occupation.

Tensions escalated in occupied Jerusalem when Israeli police detained around 350 worshipers inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex. After the Jewish settlers stormed the mosque, a group of Palestinians barricaded themselves inside the mosque and tried to prevent the police from entering by locking the doors.

Israeli police went to the roof of the mosque and some broke the windows and attacked worshipers inside with sound bombs. Some people in the mosque tried to resist the police, but the occupying forces tortured the worshipers with weapons.
