Rawalpindi: Foreign currency and more than ten tolas of gold ornaments, travel documents and other items were looted from the British Palt family in Gujarkhan.
According to the police, Masma Sonia Aziz belonging to Ward No. 7 said that she had landed at the airport with her husband from the UK and left the airport to go to her father’s house in Gujarkhan.
He further said that he was at a short distance when suddenly three armed men in a car stopped the car and took twenty four hundred pounds, more than ten tolas of gold ornaments, watch, iPad, laptop, from him at gunpoint. Clothes, shoes, UK driving licences, arms licenses and travel documents were looted and fled.
Police have registered a case and started investigation.
It should be remembered that after leaving the airport with overseas Pakistanis in different areas of Rawalpindi, the series of incidents continues frequently. In several incidents, armed robbers have returned by pretending to be government officials.
Most of the incidents have taken place in Thana Race Course, Morgah, Civil Line, Airport, Naseerabad, Rawat, Mandira, Gujarkhan areas. In most of the incidents, the accused have not been traced yet.
