Abandoned Waqf Property Rawalpindi has sealed seven land units including two units of Lal Haveli, the residence of former Home Minister and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed.
Deputy Administrator Waqf Property Asif Khan reached Lal Haveli along with a heavy contingent of police and took action. Sheikh Rasheed was not present during the action. There was no resistance to the action.
During the action against Lal Haveli, help was also sought from FIA.
The Deputy Administrator of Waqf Property says that Sheikh Rasheed and his brother are illegally occupying 7 land units of Waqf Property including Lal Haveli.
He said that despite several notices, Sheikh Rasheed could not present the authentic documents of the land.
It should be noted that the court has dismissed Sheikh Rasheed’s injunction request to stop the proceedings of the abandoned waqf property.
Sheikh Rasheed had taken a stand in the petition that the case of Lal Haveli and adjoining land is under hearing, therefore the notice and action of eviction from Lal Haveli is illegal.
