Islamabad: The High Court, while hearing on Jamaat-e-Islami’s application, extended the court order to stop the recount in 6 union councils of Karachi till April 5.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan heard the case, on this occasion the petitioner’s lawyer Qaiser Imam and Hasan Javed Shorush appeared in the court while no one could appear on behalf of the Election Commission, on which the Islamabad High Court ordered the Election Commission Again the notice was issued through special messenger.
The petitioner’s lawyer took a position in the court that the Election Commission had been notified but no one came today. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan said that notices have been issued again through special messenger. The lawyer told the court that 5 union councils are included in Karachi West and one in Karachi East. Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Raja Arif Sultan had complained about post poll rigging on January 17.
Later, the court adjourned the further hearing of the case till April 5. It should be noted that Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi had challenged the recount order in 6 union councils.
