3% increase in remittances, volume 245 million dollars record

Islamabad: Remittances of Pakistanis working in EU member countries recorded an increase on monthly and annual basis during February.

According to the report of the State Bank, the volume of remittances of Pakistanis working in the European Union member countries was recorded at 245 million dollars in February, which is 3% more than last year’s February. In February last year, the volume of remittances was recorded at 238 million dollars.

According to State Bank, the trend of purchasing through credit cards has increased. According to the statistics, in February, consumers made purchases of 87 billion rupees through credit cards, which is 32.9% more than last year’s February. In February last year, consumers made purchases worth Rs 65 billion through credit cards.

On the other hand, according to the report of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, in the first 8 months of the financial year, 12.09% and 16.78% respectively were recorded in fish and meat exports on annual basis.

In the period from July to February 2022, the country gained 300.180 million dollars from the export of fish products, which is 12.09% more than the same period of the previous financial year, while the volume of meat exports was recorded at 256.97 million dollars, which is the same period of the last financial year. 16.78% higher than the competition.
