Karachi: A rickshaw driver who was released after being detained for involvement in a robbery worth more than 20 million rupees at a mobile phone shop in Defense died.

According to details, on March 12, 4 unknown armed suspects took the security guard and staff of the shop hostage at gunpoint in the mobile phone shop in Defense Phase 7 Sahar Commercial area of ​​Gurri police station and looted valuable mobile phones worth more than two million rupees. The case of the incident was registered against the unknown accused in the complaint of owner Sharadkumar and the investigation was started.

In the CCTV footage of the robbery in the mobile shop, it was seen that the armed suspects fled with the stolen mobile phones in a rickshaw. Later released.

The rickshaw driver Abdul Rasheed died at home on Sunday morning, on which the family informed the police, after which the body of the rickshaw driver was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem, where the wife, brother and other relatives of the rickshaw driver. The relatives have alleged that the South Investigation Police detained the rickshaw driver Abdul Rashid the day after the robbery incident in the mobile shop and during the detention the police subjected Abdul Rashid to brutal torture and when the family went to meet Abdul Rashid. Police station and then Derakhshan went to the police station, they were pushed away from the police station and told that no one named Abdul Rasheed was in their custody.

Abdul Rasheed was supporting his children by driving a rickshaw for the last 10 years, he has 3 children and is a resident of Qayyumabad D Area and he is originally from Okara.

The family members said that on Friday night they received a phone call from the police station to come and take Abdul Rasheed and when they reached the police station to pick up Abdul Rasheed, Abdul Rasheed’s condition was very bad and he was brutally tortured. Abdul Rasheed had injuries on his body. and he was unable to walk, they carried him home on their shoulders.

Abdul Rasheed while chatting with us said that he was subjected to the worst torture by the policemen sometimes by hanging him upside down and sometimes by hanging him upright in such a way that his hands and feet stopped working.

The family members said that on Saturday, they took Abdul Rasheed to Jinnah Hospital where he underwent a complete medical examination and X-rays were also taken, in which he was also told that he had internal injuries, after which the doctors prescribed some medicines for Abdul Rasheed and sent him home. He did and Abdul Rasheed died at home on Sunday morning.

The family members said that they want justice and whoever is involved in the torture of Abdul Rasheed should be dismissed from his job and strict legal action should be taken against him so that no innocent person can be tortured in such a way that he loses his life. Lose.

On the other hand, according to spokesperson SP Investigation South Zone, there was a robbery at a mobile shop in Khayaban Sahar on March 12 and FR No. 23/101 was registered under Sections 397, 392 and 34 of the Criminal Code at Ghaziri police station, CCT. Rashid was the driver of the rickshaw that was used in the incident with the help of V, therefore the rickshaw driver was investigated and sent away after questioning.
