Automakers say that July-February car sales have recorded a 43 percent decline.
According to the companies, the sales of cars in the first 8 months of the current financial year were limited to one lakh units.
The companies said that sales of tractors fell by 50 percent to 18,000 units, while sales of buses and trucks fell by 30 percent, with only 3,000 units sold during that period.
