Karachi: In response to the strategy of private universities, NED University also started admissions before the inter exams.
The strategy of starting early admissions under private universities across the country including Sindh is affecting the public universities and in response to this strategy, under the new plan, NED University has announced a new plan for the bachelors program for the session 2023/24. Admissions have started several months ago.
This time the admissions are being started two months before the intermediate exams too, the admissions are starting from Wednesday 16th March while the aptitude test for the admissions will also be conducted one month earlier this year, the aptitude test under NED this year. It will be held in July while last year these tests were held in August.
It should be noted that private universities across the country, including Sindh, have been starting admissions without waiting for intermediate results and exams for some time, due to which these institutions used to engage students and its effect is this. It happened that last year the graph of student participation in the trend test conducted in NED for admissions fell to 40% and around 8 thousand students participated in the entrance test, while earlier this number had exceeded 13 thousand which After that NED gave opportunity to the students to appear in the test once again.
The Pro-Chancellor of NED University, Dr. Tufail Ahmed, when contacted by “Express”, confirmed the above mentioned reasons for starting early admissions and said that apart from IBA Karachi, NIST, DHA Safa and other institutions are not only conducting exams. They start the admission process before or during it, but also give it a final shape, which leaves no choice for the students to come to NED, so we have also decided this time that the entrance exams also. be started earlier while the trend test is also being taken a month earlier this time and the session will also start in the first decade of October which will gradually be brought to September.
He said that this time 17 admission seats have been added for admissions, after which the admission seats have become 2840 while the fee has been increased only by 10%. And immediately after these exams the aptitude test in NED will be conducted in July.
