Lahore: Despite tensions between Pakistan and India, the border forces of the two countries exchange sweets as goodwill on each other’s religious and national festivals.
On the occasion of India’s 74th Republic Day, sweets and gifts were exchanged between Pakistan Rangers Punjab and Border Security Force (BSF) India at Wagah Border in Lahore.
At Lahore’s Wagah border, where Pakistan Rangers Punjab and BSF India jawans battle it out every evening during a joint parade, the two neighbors and arch-enemies exchange greetings and sweets on religious and national festivals.
The local commanders of the border forces of the two countries also presented sweets and gifts to each other on the Indian Republic Day on Thursday.
According to security sources, Pakistan Rangers congratulated the jawans of BSF India on their Independence Day. The local commanders of the two forces warmly shook hands and exchanged sweets.
