Karachi: The bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators, who faced their fourth defeat in their 5th match in PSL8, Umar Gul has said that they are not out of the event yet, they are very sad about this performance. There is still a chance that we can come back.
Talking to the media after the match against Islamabad United, he said that unfortunately we have not been able to play good cricket so far, we have to improve in all three areas for good results. We failed to finish in the right direction in the match.
He said that the bowling could not be done as per the plan in the match. ABC gave all the plans to their bowlers. Azam Khan won the match by batting well. We could have improved in the fielding. We are looking for a good combination, that’s why. We have not been playing well. We expected Sri Lankan spinners to be part of the squad, keeping the combination in mind. The unavailability of a good player makes a lot of difference. Poor debutant bowlers. Amil Khan is a talented player. Next five matches left, still can be better.
Umar Gul said that players who graduated from Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators performed against us. Riley Russo and Azam Khan are examples of this. Former Test captain Moin Khan as a professional coach will be disappointed but Azam as a father. Khan will be happy with his excellent performance.
