Spontaneous Notice on KP, Punjab Elections, Reservations to Pakistan Bar Council on 9-Member Bench

The Pakistan Bar Council also expressed reservations over the formation of a 9-member bench in the case of automatic notice of elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking to Express News, Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council Advocate Haroon Rasheed said that it would have been better if a full court was formed, but even if the full court was not formed, at least two judges should not have been included.

He said that objections had also been raised against the two judges, on the other hand, the two judges have also brought forward their minds in the Ghulam Mahmood Dogar case and declared the election commission to be the responsibility of the election.

He said that the decision to become a party to the notice will be taken after consultation. Chairman Executive Committee Hasan Riz Pasha said that to avoid objections, it was better to include senior 9 judges. He said that our effort is not to take sides in political matters, there should be no favoritism in the formation of benches in political cases.
