In Lahore, two motorcyclists were injured as a result of falling trees during rain accompanied by strong winds, while several areas were plunged into darkness due to tripping of LESCO 322 feeders.
According to details, a tree fell on Liberty Roundabout due to rain and strong wind in Lahore, as a result of which two motorcyclists were crushed and injured, who were shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.
According to the hospital administration, the condition of both the injured is out of danger, while Deputy Commissioner Lahore Rafia Haider took notice of the falling tree and injured two citizens and directed MS Hospital to provide immediate medical assistance.
Apart from this, he directed the concerned Assistant Commissioner to reach the spot and complete the rescue process as soon as possible.
Rafia Haider appealed to the citizens to stay away from electric wires and poles during rains and strong winds and also be careful not to pass under walls and trees.
After the rain, the distribution system of LESCO was severely affected and 322 feeders were tripped due to which many areas including Lahore were plunged into darkness. According to LESCO officials, 227 feeders were closed in Lahore, 95 in Kasur Nankana Sahib, Okara and Sheikhupura.
On the other hand, after the rain in various areas of Punjab including Lahore, the heat wave broke and the weather became pleasant, on which the citizens breathed a sigh of relief.
