Peshawar: Employees of other government institutions, including teachers, protested against only 10 percent salary hike and pension reforms, on which the police lathi-charged and pelted them.

According to Express News, the teachers and other employees gathered at No. 1 school and decided to march from the school to Assembly Chowk in the form of a rally. 10 percent increase is not acceptable in any case. In view of the protest of the employees, the administration closed Assembly Chowk for traffic and deployed a heavy police force, the traffic police diverted the traffic to Shami Road and Bacha Khan Chowk, on which the traffic jammed on the roads and the vehicles Queues were formed, traffic was jammed on alternative routes as well.

Despite the intense heat, the employees protested, including women. When the protest did not end, the police lathi-charged and shelled the protestors.

The employees have been present in Assembly Chowk for several hours, yet no one has negotiated with them. A heavy police force is also present there. Due to the closure of Assembly Chowk, the entire city began to present a scene of traffic jams in many places and the hardships of the people increased due to the intense heat.

Government employees, including women, continued their dharna on GT Road and took shelter under Suri Bridge due to the intense heat.

Due to the protest, the traffic was diverted to an alternative route, a part of Khyber Road was completely sealed, heavy police and security personnel were deployed in front of the assembly, the protestors involved in the protest suffered from severe heat.

Later, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government summoned the representatives of government employees to the assembly for negotiations. The four-member committee of employees left for the assembly negotiations. . On the other hand, Speaker Assembly Babar Saleem Swati and Finance Minister Aftab Alam, police officers, Assistant Commissioner of Negotiations were involved in the negotiations.
