Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) has submitted a resolution in both houses of Parliament on the orders of the President to hold elections on April 9.
JUI has submitted separate resolutions in the Senate and the National Assembly on the issue of President Dr. Arif Alvi’s orders to hold the elections to the provincial assemblies on April 9.
According to the text of the resolution, the president rejects the date of elections in the two provincial assemblies.
JUI’s resolution said that the President does not have the authority to take such a decision, the President’s announcement is a violation of the Constitution.
The text of the resolution further states that it urges the Presidency to withdraw its declaration.
The resolution of JUI demanded that the President should leave his post for violating the Constitution.
The resolution has been submitted in the Senate by Senator Kamran Murtaza and in the National Assembly by Alia Kamran.
