Karachi: The Sindh High Court, while hearing the case related to missing persons, has expressed indignation and remarked that in most of the cases, there are zero results for years.
A 2-member bench headed by Justice Nimatullah Phalputo heard the requests for the recovery of the missing persons. The court was upset over the non-recovery of Pathan Khan Zahrani of Steel Town, missing for 5 years.
The court ordered the SSP to submit a report while issuing an arrest warrant to the investigating officer of the case for non-appearance.
Justice Nimatullah Phalputo remarked that the court is very concerned about the non-recovery of the missing citizens. Family counseling takes time. There is no doubt that provincial task forces and JITs meetings are being held, but in most cases the results have been zero for years.
The court said that the investigating officers are the medicine for what disease, why don’t they take serious steps?
The court sought reports from the federal and provincial governments and other institutions on the recovery of Bilal, Musa and others and adjourned the hearing on the petitions till August 13.
