Lahore: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has been met by China’s ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zhaidong, in which Pakistan-China relations, CPEC, government initiatives to revive Pakistan’s economy and other important issues were discussed.

In the meeting, a detailed discussion was also held regarding Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to China. On this occasion, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said that the eyes of the whole world are focused on the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to China. During the visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to China, ongoing projects under CPEC will be reviewed.

He said that new projects will be discussed during the visit and investment in CPEC will also be discussed. Relations between Pakistan and China are based on friendship, trust and mutual respect. The relationship between the two countries has taken the form of a comprehensive strategic partnership. The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an important cooperation project between the two countries.

Atta Tarar said that China is Pakistan’s biggest trading partner. Thanks to CPEC, the access of Chinese products to Pakistan and Pakistani products to China has increased. Chinese cooperation in the completion of several major projects in Pakistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project is enviable.

He also informed the Chinese ambassador about the government’s economic initiatives and the visits of high-level delegations from Saudi Arabia and Iran and said that economic indicators are becoming positive as soon as the government comes to power. Global journals are also predicting improvement in Pakistani economy.

On this occasion, the Chinese ambassador appreciated the government’s economic initiatives and expressed hope that the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will continue on the road of development.

In the meeting, the federal minister also informed the Chinese ambassador about the government’s measures to protect Chinese citizens in Pakistan. On this occasion, it was also agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of information and culture.

The federal minister said that during the upcoming visit of the prime minister to China, an agreement on exchange of news between China’s news agency Xinhua and Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) will also be signed. The two leaders also agreed to promote cultural and educational exchanges. At the end of the meeting, the commitment of both countries to continue cooperation with each other was expressed.
