Karachi: The Chief Justice of Pakistan remarked during the hearing of the case that people are talking about what they are getting. What are the roads, water, electricity? Will you continue to pay all the money in salaries? .
The Supreme Court rejected the plea of Hyderabad Development Authority employees against dismissal. A bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faiz Isa comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan heard the petition against the dismissal of contract employees of Hyderabad Development Authority at the Karachi Registry.
The petitioner took a position in the court that I was not a contract employee but a regular employee. He was an employee of Hyderabad Development Authority.
Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel remarked whether all regulations were followed in your appointment. Do we know if you have a degree or not? The court remarked that you were a contract employee, just read the appointment letter. Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa remarked that we know what happens in the committee. The list comes that they have to be kept.
The Chief Justice remarked that the bus is being filled by employees, where is the public being served. We will see what the government departments are doing. What are the government institutions doing, they are only nurturing the employees. Only people are being filled in government jobs. Only employees are being paid by sitting.
The Chief Justice added in his remarks that the government has no time to do anything. It is said that they are serving, they are recruiting 3, 3 times employees for each post. Govt jobs are to grab those who are not qualified. Why put the burden of illegal recruitment on the people of Sindh?
The petitioner’s counsel argued that the government itself initiated the project and later sent back the employees, to which the Chief Justice remarked that we should not be run by the government, the government should run it itself.
The lawyer said that the recruitments were done under the package of the President and the Governor. The Chief Justice remarked that the law has been flouted in the name of authority. What powers do the president and governor have? Did they have their own money? If the constitution is violated, then we will not allow it. How did the president get the power to distribute money to whoever he wants? When did this happen? Who did it?
The lawyer said that the recruitments took place during the tenure of former President General Pervez Musharraf, the package was received. On which Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa remarked that the basis of something is wrong then this is what happens, the thing cannot stand.
The Chief Justice said that talk about the people of the province, what are they doing? What are the roads, water, electricity? Will you continue to pay all the money in salaries? You are talking about these people, not the province. There are no salaries to be paid to the employees in the province. The court rejected the plea of Hyderabad Development Authority employees against dismissal.
