Karachi: 2 children died due to diarrhea epidemic in Central District of Karachi, while dozens of people have been affected by the epidemic in Musrat Colony, Feroze Colony of Nazimabad area in the last one week.
During the last one week in Karachi, due to extremely hot weather, drinking contaminated water, diarrhea disease is being reported from different areas. On the other hand, the Provincial Health Department confirmed the death of 2 children while confirming the diarrhea epidemic in UC 49 Musrat Colony in Nazimabad No.1 area of Central District.
Bangash, a resident of the affected area, also told “Express News” that after the death of the children, fear has spread in the area. He claimed that due to polluted water in this area, the epidemic is spreading rapidly and it is affecting the elderly including children.
In this regard, the concerned District Health Officer Dr. Ali Murtaza confirmed the death of a boy and a four-year-old girl and said that so far more than 25 people are suffering from diarrhea in the said area.
Dr. Ali Murtaza claimed to have formed medical aid teams in the affected areas. He said that medical aid is being provided to the victims. Moreover, he said that the cholera epidemic has spread due to the addition of sewage water to the drinking water.
