Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan’s senior deputy commander and member of the National Assembly, Mustafa Kamal, demanded the immediate handover of the city to the army to control the increasing street crime in Karachi.
MQM Pakistan Senior Deputy Convenor and Member of National Assembly Syed Mustafa Kamal said that 60 civilians have been killed in the city so far due to the incompetence of the Sindh government and the police. To be handed over to the army.
Mustafa Kamal said in a statement that the Sindh government and the Sindh police have left Karachi at the mercy of dacoits.
He said that street criminals have looted 100 million rupees by killing two citizens in Metroval area today, which is a great injustice. There is no area and no road in Karachi where lives and property of citizens are safe.
He said that the number of citizens killed in street crimes so far this year is going to be 60, the biased Sindh government and the incompetent Sindh police have given free rein to thieves, robbers and murderers.
Mustafa Kamal questioned Sindh Home Minister Zia Linjar and said that the Home Minister should tell who has tied the hands of the police. Why is the police not taking action?
He alleged that the Sindh government is not serious in providing security to the citizens, the city should be handed over to the army for 3 months. MQM Pakistan is ready for all possible cooperation to deal with street criminals.
It should be noted that in Ramadan alone, armed persons have killed 20 civilians for resisting robbery, while the number of civilians killed so far this year has reached 58.
According to the data of Sindh Police, 6 thousand 780 incidents of street crime have been reported in different areas of Karachi in just one month.
