Karachi: SIU Police raided CTD Garden and arrested 4 policemen of Krissi TD on the issue of keeping the citizen and his friends in custody, torture and extortion.
According to DIG CTD Asif Ijaz Sheikh, the policemen had illegally detained Jassim and his friends and received 4 lakh money. The arrested policemen will be dismissed from their jobs.
Another feat of the police officers posted in the Counter-Terrorism Department came to light, the CTD officers detained the citizen and his 3 friends illegally and tortured them.
Late at night, the Specialized Investigation Unit Police raided the CTD Garden and arrested 4 police officers of the CTD.
DIG CTD Asif Ijaz Sheikh said that the CTD officials illegally detained Jasim and his 3 friends Umar Farooq, Imran Abdullah and Osama.
A case has been registered in Tipu Sultan police station on the complaint of citizen Jasim, after which action was taken.
According to the text of the case registered in Tipu Sultan police station, a citizen named Jasim had to take an amount of 6 lakh 30 thousand from a girl named Noor. Demanded money, the girl named Tunor blocked her mobile number and after that Noor contacted through a boy named Shoaib and called PECHS to meet me.
When I reached the spot along with my friends, 3 police officers and 4 people in plain clothes arrived there in a police mobile, the police officers were armed and introduced themselves with different names and positions and told us that they were stationed at CTD Garden, after which they put us in the police mobile and beat us. They took me to CTD garden where they locked me and my friends in another room and also took away our mobile phones and then I found out that my friends were left behind and the code of my mobile phone was deleted and the data in the mobile was deleted.
Meanwhile, a girl named Noor also came to the CTD garden along with a boy named Affan. Affan was also calling himself a CTD official. After which the CTD officials called my elder brother Rashid and took 4 lakh rupees from him and threatened me not to contact the girl named Noor again and left me.
According to DIGCTD, among the policemen involved in the incident and arrested are sub-inspectors ASI Liaquat, Jahanzeb and Haris and the arrested policemen will be dismissed from their jobs.
