Karachi: Who will be the new chief of Karachi police? The Sindh government started consultation on this issue.

The Sindh government has finalized the names of Additional IG Munir Sheikh and DIG Azad Khan as Karachi Police Chief. Later, it was decided to remove Additional IG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rind from the post.

2 names are being considered for Additional IG Karachi, in which the first name is Munir Sheikh and the second name is Azad Khan, Munir Sheikh has served in DIG East, DIG South Karachi, Balochistan and Punjab Police. Apart from this, he has also served in the Federal Investigation Agency, Azad Khan is posted in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Sindh. The name of former Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odhu is also being circulated for Additional IG Karachi, but sources say that Javed Alam Odhu will be appointed to an important post in Balochistan.

If his appointment is not possible, the third candidate for Additional IG Karachi will be Javed Alam Odhu. In view of this, it has been decided to remove Additional IG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rind.

Khadim Hussain Rand was appointed as the Karachi Police Chief in the caretaker government, during which insecurity has increased and no adequate strategy has been adopted by the police, in view of which it has been decided to remove Khadim Hussain Rand. In Karachi this year, 44 citizens have been killed in street crime incidents.
