People are left at the mercy of those who openly wave prohibited weapons, Supreme Court

Islamabad: The Supreme Court, in its written judgment hearing the case, has said that the public has been left at the mercy of those who freely wave prohibited weapons.

The 3-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa, issued a written order for the March 6 court proceedings. In the order hearing the case against the banned bore arms licence, the Supreme Court said that the public was left at the mercy of those who waved banned arms freely.

The Supreme Court in the order said that apparently the police, provincial home departments and the home ministry are not interested in making people’s lives safe. SMGs are widely seen outside marriage halls, markets, schools and even hospitals. People are seen carrying weapons for criminal purposes in Dalas but the police ignore them.

The apex court further said in the order that law abiding citizens feel insecure by the display of arms. In such an environment, the stick of which creates an atmosphere similar to that of a buffalo. It is shocking to us that the police has no mechanism to verify any weapons. The court sought a written response from the government of Pakistan through the interior secretary.

The court ordered to tell whether it is the policy of the federal government to display firearms in public. . Is there no ban on display of weapons in public places? The Supreme Court also issued a notice to the Attorney General.
