Lahore: Many big projects including IT City were announced in the capital of Punjab. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz approved the construction of 21-storey Arfa Karim Tower Two in the city.
IT, Education and Film City projects will start soon in Lahore. Besides, Microsoft, Oracle and other big companies have expressed their willingness for IT City Lahore. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has directed to invite major Chinese IT companies to set up offices.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has said that the best IT companies from all over the world will be provided business opportunities in the IT City. We will build campuses of the world’s best universities for students from all over Pakistan, including Punjab. He has issued instructions for immediate connections to set up campuses of world’s best universities in Education City.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif set the deadline of the plan for the establishment of Lahore Knowledge Park and IT City. Apart from this, approval has also been given for the Free Wi-Fi pilot project in Lahore. The Free Wi-Fi project will be launched at 10 locations in the city in 2 weeks. Free Wi-Fi points will be created at 516 locations in Lahore. He has directed to start free Wi-Fi preferably at educational institutions, airports, railway stations and bus stands.
Regarding major projects, in the meeting presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, CEO BD Imran Amin gave a briefing about IT City and Lahore Knowledge Park project. On this occasion, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Adviser Pervaiz Rasheed, Minister for Information and Culture Zahid Bukhari, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, SMBR, Chairman P&D, Secretary Housing, Secretary Higher Education, COO Brig. (R) Mansoor Janjua DGLDA, Chairman PITB and other concerned officials were also present.
