Lahore: Members took oath on specific seats in Punjab Assembly, on this occasion fierce slogans were raised by the opposition.

The session of the Provincial Assembly started one and a half hours late under the chairmanship of Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, in which opposition member Rana Aftab pointed out that the quorum was incomplete. Declared complete.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Khan invited the newly elected members to take oath while the Secretary Assembly announced the names of the Panel of Chairs, which include Rana Manwar Hussain, Syed Ali Haider Geelani, Ghulam Murtaza and Raheela Naeem.

Later in the session, the newly elected members stood up to take oath, upon which the opposition started protesting in the House. Opposition member Rana Aftab said that after winning the election, our members joined the Sunni Ittehad Council. These are our seats, we should be given them.

On the opposition’s protest, Speaker Punjab Assembly requested to run the house according to the rules of business. On this occasion, opposition member Rana Aftab and Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan also clashed. Rana Aftab said that the decision regarding specific seats is under hearing in the court, oath should not be taken. The speaker said that everything is being done according to the constitution and law, on which Rana Aftab said not to misinterpret the law. Despite the opposition’s objection, the newly elected members started taking oath. Speaker Punjab Assembly started taking oath of newly elected women members on specific seats while the opposition stood on their seats and protested and raised slogans of shame shame. While raising slogans against PML-N in the House, the opposition said that our seats were robbed.

Members of the opposition took oath on specific seats amid intense protest and sloganeering. Meanwhile, the opposition members kept shouting slogans of disapproval.

The opposition members surrounded the speaker dais and shouted slogans while the speaker directed the opposition members and government members to remain on their benches. Later, the oath-taking members signed the documents while photos of founder chairman Tehreek-e-Insaaf were hoisted in the House by the Sunni Ittehad Council.

Sadia Muzaffar, Fiza Maimuna, Abida Bashir, Maqsoodun Bibi, Amira Khan, Soumia Atta, Rahat Afza, Rukhsana Shafiq, Tehsin Fawad, Farzana Abbas, Shaughta Faisal, Uzma Butt among those who took oath on the seats reserved for women in the Punjab Assembly session. , Maria Talal, Sajda Naveed, Nasreen Riaz, Afsheen Hasan, Amna Parveen, Shahr Bano, Zeba Ghafoor, Rubina Nazir and Syeda Samira Ahmed are included while Tariq Masih, Waseem Anjum and Basru Ji took oath among the minorities.
