Pakhtunkhwa;  Chance of rain and snow in higher areas from today till Friday

Peshawar: Pakhtunkhwa is likely to receive rain and snowfall in upper areas from today to Friday.

According to the Department of Meteorology, there is a possibility of light and heavy rain in the province from today to Friday, with snow falling on the upper areas and mountains, due to which the weather in the upper districts of the province remained very cold and partially cloudy. It will rain and snow in the upper districts in the evening hours.

The province recorded a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius. The provincial capital Peshawar is also covered with thick clouds from this morning, due to which light drizzle is also possible. The forecast for this week is mostly cloudy.

On the other hand, PDMA has issued instructions to the district administration to take precautionary measures in view of rains and snowfall in the province.

In the instructions issued by DG PDMA Muhammad Qaiser Khan in view of the fear of landslides in the upper districts due to snowfall and rains, it has been said that in the event of a storm, people should avoid electric wires, dilapidated buildings and constructions, signboards. And stay away from billboards. Instructions have also been issued to the tourists and local population in the sensitive highlands to be aware of the weather conditions and take precautionary measures.

Meanwhile, snowfall has continued in various areas of South Waziristan since last night after a gap of few days. More than one foot of snow has accumulated in Preghal, Shawal, Makin, Kannigram and Karwan Manza. Due to snowfall, the severity of cold has increased in various areas and roads have been blocked in mountainous areas due to which the local population and tourists are facing difficulties. Roads are closed.
