Election rigging, six parties including GDA announced protest outside Sindh Assembly

Karachi: Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), PTI and MQM Haqiqi announced a protest outside the Sindh Assembly on February 24.

This was announced by JDA Chief Coordinator Sadruddin Shah Rashidi, JUI Sindh Amir Maulana Rashid Soomro, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh President Haleem Adil Shaikh in a joint press conference.

The Grand Democratic Alliance and five other parties also formed a ten-member advisory committee for the next course of action, which will determine the next course of action. The leaders of the coalition parties said that the peaceful struggle will continue till the return of public mandate.

While giving a press conference, President Uddin Shah Rashidi said that our protest is against the bogus election because notes were circulated in the name of vote in the general elections. He said that the head of GDA and Functional League is Pir Pagara, he will come to the front when needed, at this time Pir Pagara is leading our protest movement.

On this occasion, Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi said that we are protesting against the fraudulent election throughout Sindh, we have given successful sit-ins in Jamshoro and Moro, the people have rejected the results of the bogus election and GDA, Jamaat-e-Islami, J. UI, PTI and Mahajir Qaumi Movement have jointly decided to protest in front of the Sindh Assembly on February 24 at 11 am.

He said that our struggle is peaceful, not a stone has been left anywhere, we are going towards legal and constitutional protest and we will go towards new elections.

Safdar Abbasi said that our elected members will take oath tomorrow, but they will sit again after tomorrow, after which they will give a plan for the future.

In response to a question, he said that members of Jamaat-e-Islami, PTI and GDA will also not take oath tomorrow.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that we will not take oath tomorrow as an expression of solidarity with GDA, but our members will take oath later. He said that in Karachi the seats have been distributed between the People’s Party and the MQM in Bandar Bant. We are cooperating with each other and expanding the scope of the protest.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Haleem Adil Shaikh said that robbery was done in all the divisions of Sindh and incidents happened everywhere. I was also cheated, it was not an election, it was a fraud.

He said that 22 MNA seats in Sindh are ours, the Election Commission is involved in mandate theft, they are guilty of treason against the constitution, the collective political grave of the three parties will become a collective political grave. Will stand together.

President of Jamiat Ulema Islam Sindh Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro said that the peaceful protest should not be blocked, otherwise the administration will be responsible for it. He said that Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto were also with us in the Islamabad protest. If there can be a protest there, there can be a protest outside the Sindh Assembly.

Rashid Soomro directed the workers from across Sindh to leave for Karachi in the form of convoys and said that all other plans and programs have been canceled for the time being and we will hold a joint protest tomorrow.

Masroor Khan Jatoi, Liaqat Jatoi, Dr. Fahmida Mirza, Syed Ghos Ali Shah, Sardar Abdul Rahim, Allama Nasir Mahmood Soomro, Ali Pulh, Agha Taimur Pathan, Alamgir Khan, Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Dr. Zulfikar Mirza, Masroor Khan Jatoi, Muhammad Khan Junejo, Jalal Shah Jamot, Nand Kumar Gokalani, Abdul Razzaq Rahmon, Rahila Gul Magsi, Saira Bano, Syed Ismail Shah, Mir Asghar Paiwar, Mazhar Rahojo, Ghulam Dastgir Rajar, Jam Nafees, Khizr Hayat, Mohammad Bakhsh Khaskheli, Arbab Anwar, Syed Zohaib Shah, Qari Usman, Raja Azhar, Syed Munir Haider Shah and others also participated.

It should be noted that the meeting of the Sindh Assembly has been called on February 24, in which the newly elected members will take oath.
