Karachi: Sindh and the federal government agreed to construct high-rise buildings on vacant land of Clinton and Jahangir quarters.
A video link meeting with Federal Secretary Housing under the chairmanship of Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqer, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Chairman P&D Shakeel Manganijo, Secretary Municipalities Manzoor Sheikh, Commissioner Karachi Saleem Rajput, Secretary PPP Unit Asad Zaman and M. C Karachi Afzal Zaidi participated.
According to the spokesman, in the meeting, Sindh and the federal government agreed to work together on the projects of the quarters. Sindh and the federal government will sign an MoU on this project.
In his address to the meeting, caretaker Chief Minister Sindh said that federal government employees used to live in these old quarters, people are still living in the same quarters even after the country’s capital was shifted to Islamabad.
He said that we want to build high-rises on the vacant land of these quarters to increase the beauty of the city, by building high-rise buildings, old residents will also get flats and some will be sold.
Federal Secretary Housing said that the federal government also wants to build high-rise buildings in place of these quarters.
